Parental Involvement & Committee

The play centre is managed by Committee who are elected VOLUNTEER parents. The committee is made up of three key officers (Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer) together with a minimum of four other elected members. We always need new committee members so if you are interested, have any skills you want to share or even just some spare time, please come and talk to us.

We hold regular meetings and encourage parents to attend where possible. Meetings will be announced by way of a notice in play centre to inform all wishing to attend of the date, time and location. The same stands for the AGM, annual General Meeting. It is imperative for play centre that we have as many parents attend this meeting as possible. We welcome support and look forward to seeing you ther

If you are interested in helping, here are a few roles that you can think about:

Committee positions:  This involves meeting on a regular basis to discuss the day to day running of play centre. Recommended for those who have a bit of time on their hands.

Garden:  Keeping on top of garden maintenance, mowing grass, weeding boarders, hedge cutting, clearing litter.

Ad hoc:  Helping with events and fundraising.

IF YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR SKILL, BE IT CREATIVE OR PRACTICAL PLEASE COME AND SEE US! ANY AND ALL HELP WILL BE THOUGHLY APPRECIATED.

The Playgroup not only positively encourages parent involvement. We are firm advocates of working in partnership with parents to ensure consistency between your child’s care at home and at play centre. If you do have any spare time and would like to help in any way, please talk to our staff or a committee member. If as a volunteer you want to work with the children, you will need to have a CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) check, which would be carried out at no cost to you. Volunteering is an ideal opportunity for you to gain first-hand experience of how playgroup is run. We welcome new ideas and are always open to suggestions on how to improve our service for your children.
